Szilvásvárad
Szilvásvárad is located on the western side of the Bükk Mountains at 345 meters above sea level. 30 kms from Eger. It can be reached by car from Ózd, Kazincbarcika and Eger, and by train from Putnok and Eger.
From the two railway stations approx. It is a 15-minute walk to the center of the village or to the entrance to the Szalajka Valley.
Those arriving by bus should get off at the Szalajka-völgyi bus stop, i.e. the second bus stop from Eger, and the third bus stop from Ózd and Kazincbarcika, if they want to get to the valley entrance.
Transportation within the village is not difficult even on foot due to the small distances, but it is also possible to rent bicycles and travel in horse-drawn carriages.
Those who go on a trip to the Szalajka Valley, in addition to the above, should also try the wonderful journey of the forest railway.
